All test results are overseen by Christina who is a Consultant Educationalist with 30 years experience specialising in dyslexia. Her initial specialist training was undertaken at St Bartholomew's Hospital (Dept of Psychological Medicine), where she gained a Diploma in Dyslexia and went on to work in the Department as a Dyslexia Therapist under Beve Hornsby. Their relationship as friends and co-workers continued until Prof Hornsby's ultimate retirement in 2004.
Christina also holds a Diploma in Education from the University of Wales (Bangor) in the Assessment and Remediation of Dyslexia. She was awarded a Master of Education degree from the Psychology Dept at Bangor (well known as a centre of excellence in dyslexia research) for her dissertation entitled 'Positively Dyslexic'. In addition, Christina's approved teacher status (AMBDA Reg. No. 10) is one of the earliest on record, showing the depth of her experience. What's more, Christina still liaises with medical ex-colleagues within the world of Neuroscience.
Christina's doctoral research interests centred around the neurophysiological basis of dyslexia and specific remediation techniques.
Apart from an on-going interest in the differences in the dyslexic brain, Christina has undertaken other training, e.g. in 'Nutrition', 'Intelligence Testing' and 'How the Eyes Work' (Institute of Optometry). |
 |
Christina's roles have included tutoring and lecturing in various parts of the world, including Europe, America, the Caribbean and the Middle East. She has worked as a dyslexia tutor for two Royal families. In the mid 1990s Christina set up a Dyslexia Unit in Jordan for bi-lingual school pupils (aged 4-18).
Here in the UK, Christina's work with children has covered everything from 'one to one' to being Head of Special Needs Unit within a school. Christina also runs training courses lecturing on dyslexia. She has worked as a Learner Support lecturer in both Further Education and within Universities.
We are a small friendly team. Should you require further information, please contact Milly, Michael or Christina. |
