Access Education was founded in 1982 by Christina Jubb. It arose from frequent requests for dyslexia assessments based more on educational needs rather than psychological. Today we have a broad client base in the UK and overseas. We frequently welcome English speaking pupils from Europe.

Dyslexia testing can be carried out from as young as five years old. There is no upper limit and over a third of the people we see here are aged 18+.

Most clients are referred, or refer themselves, due to underachievement.

There are a number of reasons for failing to reach potential, of which specific developmental dyslexia is one.

Although we specialise in dyslexia, our dyslexia assessments are aimed at anyone - at school or in the workplace - who is struggling.

Our experience is broad and our knowledge extensive. Staff regularly attend up-date conferences in related areas. Christina is currently undergoing training to offer Schema Therapy to clients who have suffered psychological effects (of dyslexia). It is important to stress, that psychological damage can be avoided if dyslexia is identified, acknowledged and addressed at an early stage.

We are also in regular touch with leading experts throughout the world.

Learner Profiling in the Workplace

A Learner Profile will show strengths and weaknesses in ability. Our assessments are based on face to face assessments (including psychometric testing). We do not use on-line programs, multiple choice questions or personality tests of any kind.
General learning difficulties will be revealed as well as specific difficulties (dyslexia). Our aim is to keep people employed in a job that is right for them. We also hope to help raise literacy standards in the UK.
So, if you have potential recruits you would like to screen for aptitude and literacy or existing employees about to undergo appraisals - call us to see how profiling could help. Profiling will provide you with standardised scores (50% being average).
Tests include
Verbal Ability
Non-Verbal Ability
Reading
Spelling
